It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Don Rivett passed away on 5th January 2013. His funeral will take place on Monday 11th February at 10.30am at the Kirkley cemetery church. Don had been a member of the chess club for over 60 years and was a past cChairman and President. He was also one of the driving forces behind the club's travels abroad to play teams within Europe a few years ago. - One of Don's claims to fame was a draw with GM Zharbo who I believe was from Hungary.
